Let's make an enlightened choice when we offer (ourselves) a piece of jewelry.

Maison Mouche is grounded on transparent and responsible practices, which value local and exceptional know-how. Because jewelry must contribute to the awakening of consciences on our consumption modes.

WHERE THEY ARE AT BEST

Our jewelry is made in high-end jewelry workshops. They only travel a few kilometers. From Italy for all silver and vermeil pieces, and in France for gold and diamond jewelry.

They are produced in small series or made to order for gold, using the lost wax casting technique, then shaped by hand.

Our Italian workshops, guarantors of excellent craftsmanship, are for one : certified member RJC-COC (Responsible Jewelry Council), which attests to compliance with social and environmental standards. And for the other: a family workshop working with Italian service providers who are themselves RJC-COC certified.

Our French craftsman is a creative jeweler, certified master craftsman.

SAVING RESOURCES

We have chosen to use 100% recycled precious metals.

Preserving biodiversity is an imperative today. Mining, even on a small scale, even regulated and controlled, remains a practice that destroys and pollutes natural ecosystems.

Recycling the large quantities of metals that have already been extracted from the ground over the centuries is therefore a sensible choice. It is then necessary to ensure that the chain does not include any "spoiled gold" from recent extraction, especially from mines that do not respect human and environmental standards. This is why COC (Chain of Custody) label is key in our metal sourcing as it guarantees clear tracking and origin.

The gold and the sterling silver used by Maison Mouche are 100% recycled.

Tracking is sometimes difficult to establish for recycled silver, but the COC gold we use for jewelry and vermeil comes exclusively from recycled jewelry, decorative objects, used electronic components or catalysts.

The recycling process does not alter the purity of the composition of our precious metals in any manner because once melted, gold and silver retain all their properties: they can be recycled forever.

LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS

As for gold, we do not conceive of using mined diamonds. The colossal move of rocks, the pollution and the destruction of biotopes that it implies has led us to choose lab-grown diamonds.

By placing a "diamond dust" in a kind of oven, under a very high temperature and a very high pressure, it is possible to recreate the natural conditions for diamonds to grow.

The carbon atoms aggregate around this dust, and the diamond "grows" in a few weeks, it is recovered in its raw state and cut like a natural diamond.

Its physical, chemical and optical properties are exactly the same as those of natural diamond. Cutting and grading follow the same process.

Our supplier has obtained carbon-neutral certification thanks to the renewable energies used to create these diamonds.

We use diamonds that are color graded D-F, clarity VS, diameter 1.10-1.30mm.

THE LIGHTNESS OF THE GESTURE

also applies to the design of our cases: limit the number of materials, find alternatives to plastic, produce locally when possible .

The Maison Mouche box is therefore made of recycled and recyclable paper and cardboard. It is made in France.

The pouch that protects the jewelry is entirely made of GOTS certified fair trade organic cotton and 100% recycled cotton. It is made in India.
