Let’s make an enlightened choice...

... when we offer (oneself) a beautiful piece of jewelry. Maison Mouche is based on eco-responsible and transparent practices, which promote local and exceptional know-how. Because the jewelry sector must contribute to raising awareness about our consumption patterns.

WHERE IT IS AT ITS BEST

Our jewelry is made in high-end jewelry workshops.

In Italy for all silver and vermeil pieces, in France for some vermeil and 18K solid gold with diamond jewelry.

They are made in small series or made to order for gold, using the lost wax casting technique, then shaped by hand.

Our first Italian workshops, guarantor of an excellent artisanal know-how, are certified members of RJC-COC (Responsible Jewelry Council), which attests to compliance with social and environmental standards. Our second Italian factory is a smaller manufacture working with RJC-COC certified contractors.

Our French craftsman is a creative jeweler, certified 'master craftsman'.

SAVE RESOURCES

We have chosen to use 100% recycled precious metals .

Preserving biodiversity is at urge. Mining, even on a small scale, even when regulated and controlled, remains a practice that destroys and pollutes natural ecosystems.

Recycling the large quantities of metals already extracted from the ground over the centuries is therefore a responsible choice. It is then necessary to ensure that the sector does not include any "dirty gold", i.e. from recent extraction, particularly from mines that disregard human and environmental respect. The COC (Chain of Custody) label guarantees this traceability and origin.

The gold and silver used by Maison Mouche are 100% recycled.

Traceability is still sometimes difficult to establish for recycled silver, but the COC gold that we use for jewelry and vermeil comes exclusively from the recycling of jewelry, decorative objects, electronic components or used catalysts.

The recycling process does not in any way alter the purity of the composition of our precious metals, because when melted, gold and silver retain all their properties: they are infinitely recyclable.

LAB-GROWN DIAMONDS

As with gold, we do not want to use mined diamonds. The huge amount of rock to be extracted, the pollution and the destruction of biotopes that this implies has led us to choose a lab-grown diamond.

This means placing a "diamond seed" in a sort of oven, at very high temperature and very high pressure, to recreate the natural conditions for diamond growth in rock.

The carbon atoms cluster around this seed, and it "grows" within a few weeks, it is then "harvested" in its raw state and cut like a natural diamond.

Its physical, chemical and optical properties are rigorously identical to those of natural diamond. The cutting and classification follow the same process.

Our supplier has achieved carbon neutral certification thanks to the renewable energies used to create these diamonds.

We use diamonds graded DF, VS clarity, diameter 1.10-1.30mm

THE THRIFTY GESTURE

also applies to the design of our cases: to limit the number of materials, find alternatives to plastic, produce locally when possible.

The Maison Mouche box is therefore made of recycled and recyclable paper and cardboard. It is made in France.

The pouch that protects the jewelry is made of fair trade organic cotton certified by GOTS. It is made in India.
